Im running 19/20 psi right now. I started at full soft and when up 1 or 2 clicks at a time then drove around. You will hear the difference eventually. It went from fluttering easily to a crisp "sneeze". I get light flutter in 5th under low load but thats about the same as the TypeS so...nothing new.
there's the answer

That's not 'sad', that's 'confusion'. I think CDF was confused as to why you're running lower pressures, which we're now on board with your explanation. Out of curiosity, did your HG problems occur w/ the ARP head studs already in?
I'm typically at 24-25 psi when I'm having my issues. I'm guessing there may be other differences in our setup/parts that could contribute to one valve behaving and another throwing a fit. For autoxing, my valve works just fine since on our tiny courses, I rarely have to feather the throttle. It's hammer on, hammer off, and all typically in 1st.
I had an MR valve swapped in today and the difference is night and day. And the MR holds 24-25 psi (according to my gauges).
So the Forge will be going on eBay soon.

Yes. With the ARPs in I lost another HG. 1st time around we did not deck the head - using a straight edge we did not detect any warp. So about 10k later and 22-26 lbs (dependant on fuel) the HG went again. Moral of the story - deck it anyway.
05 = pos plastic dv stock. Ditched that for a TypeS when i was running 22-26 and the OE was leaking. The TypeS died so I went with the RS. I have nothing against the IX OE one - just didnt get it. I do plan on running more psi...just right now I am not. Ill have the psi up to 26 here in a week for the next drag day. Ill see how she drives - if she is crazy Ill be sure to post it up here.

"I" have a IX with the "Gus" mod, running 22psi, hold great and no weird off throttle buck. With my HKS intake, it's louder than any aftermarket BOV I've heard, and this thing is recirculated!
Oh your gus mod, did you just leave the hole open or did you tap it and run it back to the intake?

Nothing beats it.
