Which makes me believe that its just a 9 valve new from Mitsu without anything special done to it.
I thought it basically was an MR 9 valve with a stiffer spring, maybe im wrong

I just saw this post.... so let me reply.

My sponsors dont pick me, I pick them.... in road racing throttle modulation is extremely important.

I clicked off a 1:58 at buttonwillow on street tires with this BoV, that says it all.

You gave up too soon on this valve, cause its awsome

TATSUIX, Thanks. The instructions are pretty clear and they make sense. I was adjusting it the wrong way. I clicked it all the way back to click 17 and the car feels so much better. If you tighten the valve too much then it makes it harder for the valve to release the air and that's why the car jerks and flutters. On Drag days it's best to tighten the knob all the way to hold more boost. I still need to play with it a little more to find the right adjustment for daily driving. Thanks again

Good doc! I honestly feel the max adjustment just not stiff enough. Like they state, "about 34psi" max. I feel that statement may be on the high side.

I am going to give them a call and get the stiffer spring myself. Very nice they will send a another spring. I will post what I find after I receive the spring.

I have tried a lot of valves and they all seem to have their faults other than the MR valve. I have a forge RS valve tha tI only use for drag racing when I want to hold 30 PSI. Other than that the MR valve is on the car 99% of the time and holds boost up to 26 psi which is fine for the street

I just installed mine the other day and had massive bucking a fluttering issues. I have nothing more as far as mods wise done to my car and within a few days got it adjusted to flutter just a hair under partial boost in 5th. Other than that my forge rs works great and holds 24psi like a champ (and recircs when it needs to). I almost gave up on it until I found the right setting for my setup. It's at around click 18 from the softest setting and everything is fine for DD duties.

damn, so i guess i didnt do alot of research be fore i got this valve. i use to have an old forge bov, and it had alot of driveability problems. i got this one because i thought the rs was supposed to be the improved version that fixes those problems. Mine holds boost fine, but part throttle it flutters like crazy. i havent had a chance to really dial it in. i did make 15 clicks from fully soft, and it hasnt fluttered yet.

does anyone elses forge sound like a greddy type s at low very low boost. when mine blows off just cruising, its like a big rush of air followed byt that greddy type s whistle. didnt expect the forge to sound like that. its brand new too.

Installed my RS about 2 weeks ago - no problems at all. I purchased this thing like a year ago but never installed it as I was waiting until my stock plastic DV started to leak.

I did have to adjust it slightly but that wasn't a problem at all. If you purchased this thing after seeing that it has an adjustable knob and are pissed you actually have to spend some time to ADJUST it....all I can say is duhh! It's obviously not just plug and play for every vehicle. Just take a little bit of time to dial in and a few runs locally to figure out if its correct or not.

well i thought that i did my research on this vavle. My problem is i have the buschur upper intercooler piping and i wanted something to replace that ugly 1G vavle that was starting to rust and i will be installing meth very soon to wake up my green turbo. So anwyays, i installed it with the spring that it came with (i am pretty sure the yellow). My question, i am getting really bad surging under partial throttle as you would expect. I dont want to sell it as I just got it, so where should i start??? change to what spring with how many shims if any. Most of my driving is stop and go and street??

sorry for high jacking the thread

thanks

in advance

Are you sure you researched the correct valve? The Forge RS has an adjustable knob on top of the valve to adjust your spring tension. There are no springs or shims to deal with. I have mine set at 4 turns in from zero preload and have no drivability issues and have hit 28 psi.
