Will check out what tom at ets has to offer.
GT30, is a few of the turbo's you listed. lol!

Let me type them out for you and clear this up a pinch.
GT3071R (Gt series cartridge ball bearing turbo)
GT3076R
FP3065 (GT30- center section modified compressor wheel and turbine housing)
AKA GT3082R or GT3040R (all the same, just 3065 is FP's naming system, and ^)

Lets do the order again too.
FP3065>GT3076~big 50trim>GT3071~ GREEN ~ small 50trim> IX 20g> VIII 16g

The GREEN, small 50 trim, and GT3071 are all in similar territory. Close enough to call even, leaving out specific setup details. Different rates of spool, and small variance in power between them. But you could make each's numbers with the other with a good setup. Out of these the GREEN makes the most sense. Power, vs, simplicity, vs spool. It wins in most cases.

But because no two cars are alike, setups, tuning... there's a reasonable amount of give and take even inside that fairly general guideline.

sounds to me like a 50 trim would be perfect. its about the same as a green, maybe flow a touch more.

but honestly all this lag talk is so over rated. once u get used to it, u will love it.
Lag is not over rated, it just appears the masses think spool up is over rated.

I had full boost at 3500 in 4th gear in my car 3700 in 3rd, this was a 2.3 + 3076 (.83A/R) and a real manifold.

Id say that comparo is accurate. I don't know how much more if any a 3071 will make over a green, a 3076 definately will.

The 30R's are sweet turbo's, people who either autocross or just enjoy low RPM/ and especially tq are insane on the street.

My 3076+2.3 made 480 ft lbs of tq at 4800 rpms on c16 at 30 psi. That is more than most 2.0 35R's make.

ok thats sweet but, what did you make on pump? Id say most of us can't get or don't want to get tuned for c16!?

Man! I would love that WTQ at 4800 rpms! Talk about white nuckle

It was making that tq at about 4200 rpms.

Some of them are just too close to call. Thus the "~" lump together dash.

I think maybe with race gas or a larger AR turbine housing the 3071 could beat the GREEN. But probably wouldn't be worth it in comparison to the simplicity and response of the GREEN. You'd be better off taking the 3076, in a smaller AR and still making more power. But that's how this stuff is. Its never cut and dry. Which is why your overall setup is so important.

Scorke the 2.3l & 3076 must have just been a fu**ing animal.
Sounds like its alot of fun.

Well OP, hopefully that gives you a better guideline to weigh your decision. I know I tried to lay it out as clearly as possible. I've been here before a few times trying to decide what exactly I wanted. And its not always easy.

PS: GO STEELERS!

Those videos were the farthest thing from a comparison Ive ever seen.

I would go with a Green or a 3065 if youre going to do high boost applications.

Umm both tuned to the max basically from each application. seemed like a good comparo if you ask me.

Maybe Im thinking of another.. but the one I saw was different mods and different boost. I had a great comparo with a full bolt on, cammed IX with a 3076 on meth (who went 11.3@125) vs my green setup on meth and it was a dead heat to over 125mph, yet I was ahead at the end. Much different.

Yes on pump, but my car poo'd on yours on race gas.

A 3076 will spank a green on racegas I believe.

If your going to spend 4-5k on a turbo kit who cant afford some expensive gas to get another 150 or so whp out of it for times when you want a really fast car.
