Oil Pressure acting funky

Yeah my mods are in my signature and if I'm just cruising around at a constant rpm my oil pressure will fluctuate a lot. Probably as much as 20-25 psi. Since the oil pump is crank driven I wouldnt think it would be able to flucuate that much when at a constant rpm. I also have a power enterprise kevlar timing belt if you all may think that has something to do with it. I'm just not really sure what it is. It doesnt seem like I have any leaks anywere to cause the pressure to drop.

please help ya'll

thanks,
John

I have a mostly stock motor, with bolt ons. I take my oil pressure off of the filter.

Warmed up, With Royal Purple Syn 10w-30 I see 19psi, if I rev it to 4500rpms, I will see 80psi.

From what I gathered, this is normal.

If your at a constant RPM and its fluctuating its entirely possible you have a clog in your system or need to change your oil filter.

Is the sender tapped from a sandwich plate or a block adapter??

I would change your oil and the filter and see if this helps

did you do the timing belt and the balance shaft belt not ong ago? if so did you time the balance shaft with the cams and crank? if not then you need to redo timing and ensure the balance shaft is done too.

I'm not so sure about this. I have the balance shaft eliminator kit by AMS. I don't think you have to put it in time like that if you have the elimination kit.

I don't think its the oil fliter. I have changed the oil and filter several times within 700 miles because I'm breaking in the engine. And it has done it every time. I'm reading the pressure from the oil filter adapter by the way

thanks for the quick replies ya'll! I would only think it would be doing this if clogged or if its leaking. But If I had a leak down there where the oil filter adapter was then I'd have a huge leak wouldnt I??? and would be noticeable.

any other ideas ??????

so ya'll dont think it could have anything to do with the timing belt or timing belt tensioner???

Did not realize you have the B.S. eliminated. nope no need to time it if gone. sorry for an unhelpful answer.

I have sw oil pressure gauge and for awhile now it fluctuate when I accelerate
pass 3800 rpm. Lift off the gas and it gives a reading. on the highway I will be
Cruising find but when I pass 3800 its all over the place . Mind might be a wiring problem but thought I would mention it.

Nah man its cool any answer is a helpful one when I have no idea whats going on lol

I'm just trying to get this resolved because its making me kind of paranoid. Do you think if one of the bearings in the eliminator kit wasnt flipped that it could cause these symptoms??? I'm just trying to throw up some ideas here

Ya'll wouldnt think its the oil pressure sensor for the defi gauges would you? Because it reads right most of the time. but the oil pressure just flucuates a lot at say 3k or 3.5k when held at a steady rpm
