Well full boost on pump is 21 psi. This turbo on my setup hit 21psi at ~4200 rpm. Boost starts to climbs pretty fast at 3500-3600 at full throttle. If my boost target was 30-35 psi I think I could hit that by 4600rpm. But that does remain to be seen.

Well I did do a bonehead move when I put evrything together. I had my wastegate tubes reversed. Well lets just say I saw 40psi in no time. I was really impressed on how fast this things gets up in boost. Of course we'll see what happens when I do get a meth tune. For now I have to put that on the back burner. My Z28 is sufferring. I have a turbo 383 project comming up. Going for an initail 730hp\735tq at the wheels. Starting to get alittle excited.

Quote: Just a heads up guys. My car will be mapped this Thursday. I have an HTA GT35R with .63 A/R. The plan is to map the car first with my existing AMS .63 A/R GT35R... the swap in the HTA and see what we get. We'll see what happens I'm just hoping the car holds up.

Spec is Magnus 2.4 w/ported head, MAD spec Piper cams, AMS 35R, Magnus Race Intake Manifold.

it's four days past "this Thursday". Any updates on the results?

Hi sorry about that. Long long weekend. Mark from England was here Thur-Sun. Tuned my car plus two other friends Evo 6's. Everything went pretty well. We mapped my car with AMS .63 A/R PT housing GT35R first. Pump then VP Import. It went very well I thought and on race fuel it was totally mental at 2.4 bar. Injector duty cycle was like 93% on RC 1000cc injectors at 3.5 bar base fuel pressure. Mark reckoned it was about 700 hp at the crank on race.

Then after tuning of VP Import was done, I went for a quick blast, and just as boost came on in 3rd my transfer case gave up the ghost. When I have a chance to do a full write up I'll take some pics. Went searching for a transfer case on Saturday... ending up buying a full front clip of an Evo 6 from the junkyard! We even sprayed some carb cleaner in the inlet and started it up for a moment. Hilarious.

So got the car back up Saturday, then Sunday we swapped the AMS GT35R for the HTA with same 5-bolt .63 A/R PT housing. We then went and re-checked both the race and pump maps. It did seem to go a tad lean on both race and pump. More noticably on race. So I think we ended up at 95% IDC with the HTA.

Unfortunately, because we were so busy all weekend, we never had a chance to properly compare the two. We were mapping literally minutes before taking Mark to the airport. We do have some datalogs of the AMS turbo, and I will do some new logs with the HTA when I get a chance.

So sorry nothing conclusive as yet, however, it wanted more injector on race. And also, it seemed that lift off throttle surging was improved. Will post more when I get a chance to review things. Right now I've got a big oil leak I need to figure out and a timing belt to swap.

wow, sounds like a busy weekend. Good luck with the oil leak.

So top end may be a bit higher based your experiences. Any idea what the mid range did? That's where others are noticing the biggest gain. We any major fuel adjustments needed to keep mid range a/f's in check?

Thanks for the efforts and keeping us posted.

Thanks man. I can't wait to do a high psi tune. It's a great start for pump gas/21 psi tune.

So how do you like the meth tune man? 520whp on our dyno is sick!

It's very nice. The car started breaking up that night in columbus, ga. Then I went to the track and it was still breaking up. I went to swap spark plugs and found one of the coil springs was bent and kinked up in the boot. I was getting 8.1s in the 1/8. I straighten that out, swapped plugs and got a 7.3. By that time I had to get back on the road towards nashville. I really sure I could have gotten better times if I would have stayed. Also that was at 26 psi. I realized it too late. I would have ran it at 29. I guess the differance in the air for some reason.

my HTA35R dyno
Hey guys sorry to drag an old thread back up from the dead but I just dynoed my 3582HTA last night. The spool and torque was really crazy. I went over 500lb/ft at 4500 rpms

http://gallery.mac.com/andrewbrillia...ewDyno/web.jpg

That was pump and 120 octane mix. We only got to 30psi boost as a result. More left in the car I think I think i can at least get close to and maybe even pass 700whp. I could not possibly be more happy with the turbo. Also my max power reading was at the same RPM we let off on the dyno so I think theres more left up top. These are using FP cams and a secret squirrel head. Sorry its a DSM not an evo but I think the same rules should apply.

This turbo is freaking awesome. Last year I dynod on this same dyno, driving ambition dynapack and then on a dyno jet and the lag was much less on the dynojet and had even more torque. With the same setup it was 502whp on that dynapack vs 517whp on the jet with way more torque and spool was about 500rpms faster.

On the street AEM is logging 3650 for 18psi in 3rd gear 4100 for 18psi in second.

Sounds like you're on a stroker.. I make 29 psi around 4500 rpm in 4th gear.
