For those with Exedy twin disc HD

I bought my car over a year ago and it had this clutch on it. At the time transmission was so loud I never really heard the chatter. Year later transmission goes, got a shep job. The tranny is quiet and I finally hear all the clutch chatter. No biggie about that, but I do have a very loud vibrating sound when I let out the clutch pedal usually when I take off slow. Had it before the transmission rebuild and it mostly shows up when it's cold. As I drive and the car warms up it tends to do it less and less. I'm getting my discs changed in the clutch and wondering if I should expect this noise to continue. It's loud and hard to describe.

I have an exedy twin as well, with TRE tranny, and I get ALOT of decel chatter.
IIRC it's perfectly normal for the obnoxious chatter. Solution? Don't decel in gear, just take it out of gear, or get used to it..

Yeah I've already come to terms with the normal decel chattering. It's not that though it's when I take off from a stop and engage the clutch. It makes a loud vibrating noise.

lol. My exedy HD twin plate makes all kinds of noises. But after 16k miles, I've gotten used to it. I don't even hear them anymore... only my passengers do!

Hmm, I have an Exedy Twin and getting a tranny rebuild right now. In my car, chatter isn't really noticeable at all. I will let you know once I get my tranny back to see if there are any changes.

The chatter isn't bad on mine at all, just kind of sounds like "shhhhhsssshh" sound. The thing that had me paranoid was when you start out in first gear and slowly disengage the clutch this wailing sound (like some maniacal ghost) comes from the clutch

I can avoid it if I don't give it any throttle (basically on the edge of stalling it out) but you have to hit it perfectly to avoid the "sound of the ghost"

BTW only happens in 1st gear, not even in reverse..

Silly sounds, but the clutch is a joy other than that

Mine makes a noise when engaging initially as well. But mine is a grinding sound that has recently appeared. Think maybe a throwout bearing is to blame...

bump for anyone who knows what the " Ghost noise" actually is. I was thinking that maybe I needed to adjust my clutch pedal to rid myself of the noise

I think its just all the drive plates/driven plates coming together, material itself, mine does it until I launch at the strip, then goes away for awhile, then comes back after street driving, but great clutch all in all.
