It is a big job my buddy!
so if you not very mechanically minded i would leave it to some one who knows

and if you dont have the right tools it can turn into a night mare in a hurry!
trust rather take it in, and ask if you can watch to see how it is done!

are you just doing the cams, or the entire headgasket and valves/springs/cams?

the cams are nearly identical to the evo 8 cams, with a slightly different intake cam.

the head gasket is easy to explain.... remove everything connected to the head, remove head studs, pull head off

Seriously, this is a big job. Pulling the head on the Evo is not something I want to do at home. Good luck!!

I wouldn't touch the head gasket unless it was already bad. Most people replace the stock head gasket with another stock head gasket. Its better to break soft parts than hard parts and the HG can be used as a fuse for the block.

yeah i will be doing this at home and i know i have all the tools... i want to do the whole head myself... i know i can do the cams and im about 80% sure i can tackle all of the other ****... i have to change the head gasket when i put in the studs, thats why im just going with an after market one... there no way i would reuse the stock one.

I didn't mean reuse the same one. Just saying most people use the head gasket as a cushion against VERY bad things happening. They use another stock head gasket.

make sure you get a 14mm hex for the intake cam. Cams are not really a big issue but if your also doing valves and springs i would take the head into a shop for that. all other bolt ons are not to difficult to install
