Question Should I stop shifting 5th gear???HELP

Its been 3 weeks now since i got 5th gear grinding . I got this when i missed shift it when i was racing against a 2007 shelby 500 (btw i lost coz i ran out of gear@ 160mph )

Everytime i shift to 5th gear it grinds(everyday). I 'm just worried about breaking more or just one day i will shatter something inside(gears/synchro). I know need it to rebuilt.
So should i stop shifting to 5th gear now? or just ignore the grinding as this is common to evo?

Lots of people have this problem to include myself. You can probably continue to shift to 5th with no problem it will just be an anoying grind everytime you shift

Tip: when shifting to 5th press the clutch pedal and wait until the RPM's fall and then shift to 5th if you didn't do a lot of damage it should not grind.

Hope this helps until you get your rebuilt

Is it grinding with just normal driving? I missed a shift a few weeks back and got a grind everytime I shifted into 5th (4 times) while running a buddy of mine, but then just realized that I was just trying to shift into 5th too fast. It doesn't grind under normal driving or if I shift at a normal pace when going WOT.

Yeah, 5th gear just isn't designed to smash into like 2nd through 4th. Gotta take a little time and make sure its in there before letting the clutch out.

I don't know if I should be better or not knowing everyone else has the same problem as I had.

Mine grinds only at high RPMs. I'ma try changing my gear lube to see if that helps.
