XEDE vs. reflash?

Will Vishnu's ECU reflash have a performance advantage over the XEDE? I realize that the reflash has the whole stealth thing going for it, but will it be a upgrade from the XEDE or just a alternative?

Vish, how about some info???

it's "Shiv" Pathak or "Vishnu" tuning...not Vish...anyway his website says the reflash is for people that just want a one shot deal...not the option to build on or expand as you get with the xede... I think the xede is far more flexible in it's uses....although I am sure the reflash can be changed by vishnu by sending it in if required

I guess I got that backwards Unfortunitaly I caught that after I sent the post. Hope I didnt offend. If you were to get stage 0 with a reflash would there be a performance difference?

I doubt it ...in fact because the reflash is not on sale yet...I suspect when it is released it will give a lot more power than the xede does at present...remember though the xede can be changed via an e-mailed map and Shiv is about to release switchable maps and increased boost for the xede...until now, and I will be corrected if I am wrong, the xede has gained it's power only through fuel mixture and timing modifications....a bi- product of these changes has been the ECU alowing 1 psi or so of boost more because of the engines increased efficiency...not of a purposeful boost change.....I for one am looking forward to the up coming changes to the xede...

Appropriately mapped, the XEDE and the Reflash will offer virtually identical performance. If anything, the nod would go to the XEDE since in addition to offering boost, fuel and spark control, it also is capable of knock sensor attentuation as well as soon-to-be-released user-definable fuel enrichment strategies as well as a few smart timing tricks. That's a lot more than a reflash can do now. As I see it, the only benefit I see of the reflash is that the rev limits can be changed. Something that is not [yet] available with the XEDE.

As it currently stands, boost control, fuel, timing and knock sensor adjust control are currently available with the XEDE. Current XEDE owners without the boost control will need to send their XEDE back to us for updating since boost control required a couple small hardware changes on the board.

Cheers,
shiv

Shiv,

I yield my time to the gentleman "Limey" in order to provide sufficient time and space for you to respond to his questions.

Here's the email I sent him yesterday:
