is the evo shift only accelerating to 2k rpm in first then doing a qiuick jiggle in neutral before easing into 2nd? Cuz that's the only way I'm getting into 2nd nowadays wihout grinding.

Double clutching eliminates the crunch completely while tranny warms up. :-)

I have the same issue with notchiness at DD rpms, but working perfectly when hammering the car. For the DD, jiggling the shifter in neutral works well for me. 90% of the time it stops the notchiness going into 2nd. Some people might thinks its just because this gives more time for the sycnros to work, but that's not the case. The first thing I tried was waiting patiently with a little pressure at the 2nd gear shift gate. That never helped.

I recently switched from 100% Amsoil MTG 75W-90 GL4 (produced about the same shift feel as the stock DiaQueen) to a combo of 25% Shockproof Lightweight and 75% Amsoil MTG, and having the Shockproof definitely improved the shifting. I'm tempted to drain it all out, increase the ratio to 50% Shockproof Lightweight and see how that works. razorlab is running about 33% Shockproof Heavy with Redline MT90, and he says that the shifting is the best its ever been.

Looks like I'll have to buy some of this for my fluid change upon returning home.

Some of you guys should really try the MOPAR fluid I've talked about to see how that affects the 2nd gear notchiness.

I talked to a dodge dealer who had this mopar crap and they want 25 bucks a quart for it. If I need three that's 75 bucks on something only 1 person has tested so I'm kinda hesitant consdering I just dropped 60 for the t case diaqueen. I've spent almost more on maintenance on my car then performance parts considering all the oil changes alignments and different fluids I've tried in the t case dif and tranny.

Welcome to owning an Evo.

There is also a GM part number for this fluid, which I forget offhand, and I believe the price is lower. I am also sure there are some discount MOPAR websites that will sell this fluid.

Or you can keep your 2nd gear grind. C'est la vie.
