14 psi stock?

Just got my defi boost guage hooked up and it works fine but i drove the car and only hit 14 psi which gradually rises to about 16 psi by redline.
i though these cars ran something line 19-20 psi stock?
anyone have any ideas before i dig into this?
veh does not have a boost controller.

check the gauge. Run a pressurized air to the gauge and see if it matches up. Or get on a dyno and have them log boost and pay attention to the gauge. Even if the gauge is off by a few psi thats still pretty low

Something ain't right - you should be digging into this. Stock max boost is 19, tailing off to 16 as you approach redline.

Yea. You should be running 19psi. Also if this is only in 1st gear you might only get 14-16psi before redline.

if you got any mods or even if you dont, it NEVER hurts to do a leak test to make sure you arent leaking air........just my thoughts

but it could be the gauge too.....leak test takes 5 min though....quick troubleshoot

anything a previous owner could have messed up uninstalling a boost controller
if they had one on it and took it off?
just took it for another drive and it hits 13psi then gradually rises to 17 psi by
redline.

this is either the stock boost controller is hooked up wrong or there is boost leak, check how the controller is hooked up...
