HTA 35r, new power gains and the quest for 150 mph trap speeds.

There it is folks. My RS was back on the dyno today for some tuning and to check some changes I made recently. Power is up and flatter than ever. Torque is way up.

I am hoping the new gains will allow me to hit the goal I had of 150 mph trap speeds this year. It's getting to be the end of the season and I hate not meeting a goal I have set.

I am happy with the power, really happy with the tune as I have never seen a car with this much HP have so little knock.

The engine in the car will be 2 years old in May and has seen more 9 second runs that you can imagine. Of course it sits over the winter but it's amazing to me the reliability at this power/boost/rpm level.

Going to try and make it to the track tomorrow night.

A lot of time and work went into the car over the last few weeks. I am SLOW SLOW SLOW when it comes to working on cars, that's why I don't work on anything but my own

Enjoy the dyno sheet.

How much boost are you running, and what size injtr do you have in there right now? Man this makes me happy\hopeful. I know I won't get that high, but it would be cool to get over 600on a dynoget with ECU Flash w/MAFT Pro.

Dave, if I already have a 35r, would it be better to upgrade the turbo itself(to an HTA) or just get a new one? Do you sell the HTA by itself?

David, now all you have to do is duplicate it on another white RS and voila, you'll have a backup copy. Great job David, now just put all of that power to the ground and you're there.

I gotta say, that horsepower curve is nice and FLAT in the higher RPM range, that's impressive!

Upgrading a current 35r is a lot cheaper than buying it outright, so I guess sending in the turbo to have it upgraded to the HTA is the best route. We do not do the upgrade here, it will have to go through FP directly or you can send it here and we can send it in.

9sec9, no problem. Just make the phone call!

The car is hitting 41 psi. I am running 1200 cc injectors, I had 1,000's but they were MAXED out. I upgraded a few months ago.

David - what changes did you make to the car since last time you posted about putting on the HTA?

dudical26, as I was typing my post I knew this question was going to come up. Bottom line is, right now, I am not willing to discuss what I have done.

I don't have the old test information around here for the header/cast manifold with the HTA turbo on them. It is also hard to get real data because we have never built a header for the FP housing, so no back-to-back test has ever been done with just a turbo change.

My personal opinion is the cast manifold gives the fastest spool up. The header kit give the highest peak power.

9sec9, hahaha, oh crap, that's funny. Took me a minute to figure out what the hell you were saying. That's a good one.

Thanks,
there is a post on here, and from what it shows, it is well worth the extra $ to get the HTA.

i just bought a used buschur 35R kit, didnt even mount it up, and already have sent out the turbo out to be upgraded to an HTA.
