do you mean that the car will go from peak and drop off the boost when it goes towards redline or just drop off from full boost then climb back up to 14 to 15psi? What year is your car?

I have not gotten a tune yet.. this is exactly what happens when i drive.. start off in first gear everything feels normal max psi is 20. shift to second everything still feels normal max psi is also 20. shift to third feels normal untill i hit 4k rpms i will be boosting just under 20 when the dump in power hits. it will drop my boost down to around 10 psi and if i stay on the gas it will start to rebuild psi and by the time i should be shifting it will be around 15 to 17 psi.. when i shift to fourth and fifth it does the same thing as third gear. The car is a 2003 Evo 8

Sounds like the the BOV isn't hold the boost too well. The boost (if you're using stock boost selenoid) is supposed to drop way down around 15 to 16psi by redline in 3rd or 4th. Might want to try out the the full metal IX BOV's.

ok i just went into my car to figure out exactly what my boost gauge is saying... like i said i get the dump in third fourth and fifth gear... and it happens right at 4k rpms... the boost is running at 20psi then when the dump happens it jumps down to fifteen psi the quickly jumps back up to twenty.. it all happenes within half a second.....

^^Unfortunately, that means nothing. My pipes were plenty tight and I had a lot of leaks. You (or someone) need to do a boost leak test. You also need to get tuned.

It also, by your description, sounds like you're hitting boost cut. Fuel cut is a "pop-pop-pop" sound. 4000rpms in third gear is more than likely right around peak load. You are probably hitting a load cell that is triggering boost cut.

Sounds right... forgot about the whole boost cut thing going on... haha MY BAD!

If you still want a new BOV you can go here for a brand new one http://evomoto.com/product_info.php?...301461b7c32119

and you might want to invest into a manual boost controller or if you feel the need to be a baller the you can get an electronic one.

It makes sense because if you change the lower IC pipe boost tends to come quicker and sometimes slightly more. Which caused the boost cut to happen.
