Boost Leak from Throttle Body?

Anyone experience this? I did a boost leak test because I spike to ~20-21ish psi then slide down to ~15psi. Test found that I have a leak where the throttle cable attaches to the throttle plate. If I push up/down/left/right on this part I can hear the air coming out change, sometimes stop for a 1/2 second or so.(Not actually open/close the throttle)

Anyone else experience a leak at this point?

I am pushing/moving this part^^

Oh yeah, it's typical. Very first thing I had to fix on my evo, just after bringing it home from the dealer.

The parts you need...

Has anyone ever done a boost leak test while holding the throttle OPEN? This is all that really matters. The throttle is never closed when there's full boost.

w8lifter21, do the boost leak test again with the throttle open. If it still leaks, THEN there's a problem. If not, then don't worry about it.

Every single boost leak test I have done with failed throttle body seals leak with the throttle closed or open. Just my personal experience. I've had some so bad they wouldn't even hold 5psi.

will there be a significant power loss with this leak. i leak tested my car and couldnt get passed 5 psi. it was coming out of the TB. Boost holds rock solid though?

Your turbo is overspinning to meet the requeted boost levels. So while your gauge says the same boost, the turbo is spinning overtime to meet the same boost levels with that leak.

in other words, your turbo hates you.

Can these leaky seals be the reason why I only get 14.5mpg city and 16mpg highway? I only have a filter and HKS turbo back.
