Are Boost Leaks Fixable?

Hey guys I was wondering if it's possible to fix boost leaks? What are common places for boost to leak, the intercooler pipes? bov flange maybe? I think my boost controller mite b the 1 causing it, but not too sure.. I was putting out 20 PSI but cranked it down a few notches. How does the car react when it has a boost leak, it lags and jerks around right when you're gasing it and the exhaust rumbles loud? correct me if I'm wrong. Get at me whenever u guys get the chance, Thanks.

boost leaks can be anywhere from the turbo outlet to the intake manifold+bov
do a boost leak test to see if there are any leaks. if there is a large leak u will probably hear a loud whistling noise

I had a boost leak on 1 of the hoses on my car.Boost gauge was showing 1.4 bar but the car didn't feel like it was really going anywhere.Just check you turbo hoses, intercooler pipes, the airbox. You should be able to find the leak.

if you have a aftermarket intake, take off the cone, find something like a spray can cap or something that fits in the coupler, not sure if your intake is 2.5" or bigger or whatevers, then take whatever you stuck in place of the filter cone and drill a hole just big enough to install a wheel valve stem, then if you have a air pump, start pushing air into your system, make sire you have a tire pressure gauge or something so you dont blow up anything, also maybe have a spray bottle that containers water and soap so you can spray in the hissing area to see where the bubbles are coming from

dont know if this helps

Nah, once you get a boost leak you need to replace the whole section leaking.

i've been told that theres a pooka on the headers due to not being welded good enuff from the manufacture. I got a junk megan headers n also been told it cracks n leaks easily.. wut kinda headers do u hav? wen u say that ur car jerks, wen does it jerk, above 4k rpm? does ur boost meter go back n forth? for me wen i gas it above 4k the exhaust just rumbles loud n doesn't pull as much as b4..

Absolutely not. Once you get a boost leak, just keep driving the car like it is and try to focus on something else. Do NOT tell anyone about it, even your friends...

The only other option is to immediately go sell your Evo and buy a Yaris...

think the question iz kinda off, but the problem my evo is having aint good n it's irritating. sounds like its doing a rev limiter thing under 3k rpm when i get it to roll from 0 mph. a person from vakamon said theres a high chance that theres a crack in the megan headers.. they crack ez. gonna get it welded

Of course they are fixable. Make a tester & try it out. You will probably be real surprised to see how many leaks you have. Under only 10 lbs of pressure, I had a massive amount of air escaping from the throttle body seals. Ive ordered new WORKS ones already and will replace them soon.
