264/272 HKS cam timing for best emissions results

Title says it all,

I would like feedback on what to set my cams at in hope of passing an emissions test that failed due to high hydrocarbon results.
I will also put the stock cat back on to get the best results and change the plugs.
Thanks for the help,

Sigfrid

Try advancing the exhaust cam 2 degrees, and retard the intake 2 degrees.

Confused

Hey Ted,

Thanks for looking into this. Could you please clarify?
Should I set it to -2 I / +2 E
It's easier for me to have the final setting as I am not sure if you meant move them X degrees from where they are set at now.

Thanks,

-2i / +2e is correct.

Im just curious but is this a dyno test or 2step idle test with a 5 gas analyzer? Im a Certified Emission Inspector in Pennsylvania. In different conties there are different tests. ALso the year of the vehicle gets taken into account also. Like less populated counties just use OBD scan, visual, and gas cap tests. Then the 5 gas analyzer up to the Dyno around Philly and Pittsburgh.

-2i/+2e

About the setting for 262/272 cam for EVO... with this setting -2i/+2e will it push

the power gain into the front(Early RPM) or rear(high RPM). As different setting

will move the power curve...

What will this setting do to the Power Curve?
