Best stock turbo replacement?

Looking to go a different route after my part out. I parted out my 35R,AEM etc because I had planned on selling before deployment. Now gonna pay it off and be my weekend fun car.

So whats the best stock turbo replacement out there? FP-Green? Ive never really thought about this since I ran a GT35R before and never thought about getting rid of it.

Now with a baby on the way and me getting a 335i BMW I dont want to dump a ton of money into my car again. Basically bolt-ons,possibly built motor-head etc.

So whats the best turbo to get? Looking for over 400awhp.

I did some research just want to see what everyone thinks.

well, a evo green on 91 craptane and 22-23 psi will get you over 400 whp. Either that or just get meth/alcohol injection on the stock turbo and boost it to around 26 psi and get 400 whp.

I was talking to Dapper_Dan the other day when he came by and fixed my ECU. He said he had Meth and stock evo 8 turbo(2003)and minor bolt ons(cams, piping,ic,etc) he said he boosted 30psi and felt the car made well over 400awhp.

So stock turbo would be a suggestion. A guy in Hawaii has the evo green and made 396awhp on 29psi,seems really weak.

From a lot of the threads I have read on here a 3076 sounds like a really great option for that power level.

Im looking at the FP Green on Lancershop.com. Says $1695 and has options to get 18psi hp WGA and ported turbine housing.

Now what bov is best? I see guys using the APS or Forge. Ive only tested a few and hated them, been using TiAL for a while and loved it. But ive read that TiAL on stock ECU is a no go.

Just gonna go with bolt-ons for now. Exhaust manifold,piping,injectors,02 housing, etc etc.

Already have cat-back,cams,fp,and IC. No dp because I was running the AMS one.

possibly built motor with this turbo as well. Just want a clean set up with out dumping so much money like last time.

I know for a fact that I've seen a couple evo Green turbo's belting out over 400 whp. I'll get you a link and post it up after I get done here. I would choose the FP evo green aka buschur 20g LT-9...in fact, that's what's going on my car here in about 3 weeks or as soon as it gets here. I would def go with the upgraded WG, as it will hold more boost and the porting is also a plus with spooling...you dont HAVE to have it but if you have the money lying around, go for it. As for BOV, honestly, I have the stock 9 BOV and I'm sticking with it, works great! It's not loud like all of the aftermarket ones...but I like it that way to be honest. I have yet to get the final price tag for the set-up, but for the green turbo w/ upgraded WG, port and polished and swain coated turbine housing, port and polished and swain coated SBR o2 housing, port and polished and swain coated stock manifold, swain coated heat shield, Precision 680 injectors, ACT Prolite Flywheel, ACT HD street Disc, custom dyno tuned, I'm looking at about 5000 total including labor.

Honestly, for a cost effective set-up, seeing as though you have the 8 turbo...you can purchase an upgraded 18PSI WG, SBR o2 housing (I really like theirs), get a DP and a nice injection system such as the Aquamist HFS-1, ARP headstuds, and boost your car to 26 or so psi and be done with it. I'm going to be going the meth injection route as well, but after I get my bigger turbo on. The above set-up will cost you around $2000 in parts plus about 750 for a clutch and flywheel combo and net you 400 whp....especially seeing as though you already have some other supporting mods.

Over 400 WHP strictly on 91 octane gas, w/o drugs, and on the stock ECU at barely 22-23 PSI is pushing it just a wee bit for the Green don't you think?

Maybe it has been done on a IX, but on an VIII I don't think so, unless it was done on that Dyno that SGT Blamo used once(no offense Sarge). At any rate if there are a few exceptions, they can be counted on one hand.

Yeah its gonna be a big difference being I ran a GT35R for almost 2 yrs.

Thinking of just keeping it simple. FP -Green,Good IC,full piping, injectors, valvetrain, ported intake manifold,tb,DP,etc. I have a clutch, pump, cams still. I kinda wish I didnt part out my set up now.

I just want to make good power with no lag. Just something more simple this time around.
