FP Green vs FQ400

After a bit of searching, I couldn't find any info on the FQ400 turbo so I decide to post here and push my luck. Just wondering if anyone ever get a hold of the FQ400 turbo? How is it comparable to the FP Green?

I had the Green on my car before and didn't think it worth it over the stock evo 9 turbo (I made ~380whp with the green and HKS 272 cams, and I made ~370 on the stock evo 9 turbo with stock cams). I've tried the bigger turbo kit, didn't like it. Miss the low-mid torque and hate the lag. Now I appreciate the green, just wish I still have it. May be with more dyno time I can find more power.

My car is a DD ar heart. 93 octane 99% of the time. I know with race gas the green will shine, but that's not what I'm after. Hopefully I'll find something (FQ400) in between the green and 35R. Thanks for reading.

That's weird, since most EvoGreen's I've seen make 20-30 MD whp more than an Evo 9 turbo on 91 in NorCal.

Not sure what turbo the FQ 400 uses, but it might be similar to a Garrett GT30.

370 on a stock evo 9 turbo
That sounds a bit odd
Have you consider a 50trim set up or a GT30 setup?

Not sure what it uses, think some Garrett turbo, maybe a GT30 variant like atlvalet said.

Also, just so you know, the Fq-400 has 400 BHP, which is flywheel power. That much flywheel power is only like 300-330awhp on a low reading dyno like MD or DD or 350-370awhp on a dynojet.

I believe the FQ-400 uses a Garrett GT42R. I know for sure it's a big turbo. If you've seen the Top Gear episode where they race a Lambo and the FQ400, they say the specs on the evo. The lag on it is so bad though, not a street car in the least.

FQ 400

405 horsepower (298kW)

custom built Garrett GT dual ball bearing turbocharger

As far as I know this similar to the GT3071, or HKS GTRS Turbo T04B 56trim Compressor with a T25 Flanged 0.87 hotside...

So good for about 450HP

what I was looking into was:

GT3076 with a twinscroll .78 Housing

Add a Eagle Stroker Crank with Eagle Rods on the Stock Pistons and Bore and that would make it a very streetable set-up...

Theres a local guy that makes 325 on a DynoDynamics with stock cams and stock IX turbo. The mani. and O2 housing are ported and coated. Everything else is just bolt on. ARC intake and Buschur TBE. Do the math and 325 on a DD is around 375 on a Dynojet. This is done with 91 mixed with a bit of Sunoco 100.

Yeah, I kinda figured that the FQ400 is some sort of Garret 30R turbo. Just don't know if it still retain the stock twin scroll function.

+1, it's a b-cover gt30-series turbo. They pop up on ebay once in a while, not sure they're worth the money people ask though.

I was just talking to a friend about this last night, how funny it is that the FQ400 uses a big aftermarket turbo, built motor, and even a freaking motronic ECU just to make 400hp at the crank. A well bolted-on IX will make 400 crank, or an VIII with alky! Easy!

OT--someone mentioned 325whp on an IX turbo on dyno dynamics. There is a local guy here running E85 on an IX, he has tbe, panel filter, mbc, injectors, and a fuel pump and he's putting down like 348whp on dyno dynamics!
