Cams and Turbo question
Cams and Turbo question
I have Brian Crower 280 cams installed on the stock turbo
and was wondering if the fp green 20g will supply enough air to get max potential out of them? Or do I have to go to a bigger turbo than that such as a 3065 ect ect?
I have methanol injection and am looking for 10.90 ets.

The BC 280s are ground on tight 106 deg lobe centerlines, and are not what you'd use for a large turbo dragstrip application that is dependent upon big peak power numbers. These cams are not overly large, and are better suited toward smaller turbos that make big midrange torque, such as the FP Green.
"280" doesn't tell much about a cam. To say that "280s are big" is potentially false and misleading. One would probably say that a "262" Revolver set is small, when in fact it is 'bigger' than just about any "280" cam set out there.
The fact is, far more than three digits of advertised duration are required to determine anything about a cam set.
And BC 280s are NOT too big for an FP Green, or even a stock turbo. They are relatively low-lift and timed for road/street racing (only 218 deg at 0.050"), not all-out drag racing.
FYI

FYI
Dur @ .050: 218*/216*
Lift (in) .425''/.408"
Lift (mm) 10.80/10.36
Im leaning towards the green for many reasons, and thanks for the info, but I just wanted to make sure its a big enough turbo to get potential out of the cams.
