I would drive your setup in a heartbeat, but my small trim 35R hits 30 psi around 4000 in 4th gear and that's on a completely stock motor. I understand the turbo is larger but I'd expect my turbo to spool close to 1000 rpm sooner with a 2.4 and good head work, AEM, etc... I also have 280 cams which kills the midrange so it's not the best example, but the point is the HTA35R makes great power but is not daily driveable at all.
I'm sorry man I've not tried to make any point except to show people what RPM a 35R and HTA 35R boost at. I've never heard of a small trim 35R but if it doesn't make about 700+ hp I think it's probably irrelevant as its an apples to oranges comparison.

I totally disagree with you having driving my HTA35R car daily, and riding in a 2.0 35R car. Too bad it was a reg GT35R. I feel an HTA would respond even better.

It's ok didn't mean to offend you either like I said but if all you can get out of your setup which is way more than most people on here have is 2 bar at 4500 in 4th gear than this turbo shouldn't really be on DD Street Cars. I just was confused where your bring me down to earth post came from when I stated factual things which YOU supported with evidence.

Everyone is different in terms of how much lag they can handle. I've learned to shift my powerband to take advantage of my larger turbo, but by no means should everyone put this turbo on and drive around town, especially if you don't have supporting mods. Again, this is a matter of opinion. I've rode in a built 2.0 35R car, then there is my car which is a very small 35R kind of like the ETS 57 trim, and there is no way I could imagine driving a turbo as large as the HTA every day. The power must be great though.

I ordered my BR HTA 35R kit today.. stock 2.0l yeah it's going to be laggy but I don't do any racing under 5000 rpm anyway so that's just fine with me. My TT stealth doesn't do a thing until 4500 and that doesn't bother me a bit, in fact I'd gladly trade 1000rpm for more power at high rpm.

Well I gave a ride to a friend of mine that still has a 14B in his Galant. He was very surprised with the street annars of the HTA. He too thought it would be too big. But once he saw I was in no way revving it up to leave the light, shifting at normal RPM ranges for traffic driving, he was impressed. He said it drives like my 30R did. I told him it felt smoother. Less gas peddle action.

JordanS4 I understand where you are coming from. I'm on a 2.4 with HTA and yes it is still laggy. It's way LESS lag and far MORE torque than when I was on a stock'ish 2.0 though. So I'm happy.

Is it as responsive as a stock turbo? Hell no! An Evo Green? No but getting closer. You get the idea.

Mellon.. good luck with your new tubby!

2 bar at 4500 rpm on a 2.4L? ... wow, that seems laggy to me. How high can you rev your engine?

Ha I give up with you guys.

I guess everyone is making 30 psi at 4500 rpm. What did you think? You get a stroker and a GT35R spools like a Evo Green

No seriously, what RPM do you have your fuel cut set to?

The engine is a Magnus long rod 2.4 and I have set the rev limiter at 8k.
