HTA35R drivablity

So iv seen lots of threads showing how it can make good power and all but how dose it drive is it like a 3065 where when u shift the boost is right there or more like the 35r where it takes a second to come back on? i got a 3065 right now got it cuz my goal for the car is only 10.xxx @ 13xmph id like to do that an just meth and pump. The hta just looks like it spools about the same and can make so much power so i might have to upgrade down the road.

i thought it spooled slightly slower than a 3065 and only really outshone the 3065 above 30psi...which you wouldn't surpass unless you used race gas.

also, jarrod hit 10's with the 3065 so its not a requirement to get a 35r to hit the 10's. (hell, some people have done it with the fp green).

I know the 3065 has 10 second passes in it i love the turbo but the reson i got it was its instant responce between shifts so if the hta35r has that ablity to i might be nice to make fun of some r1's. as for the green it couldnt get the 13x trap on c16 and im tring to sick with unleaded gas and meth injection might switch to e85 if we get some pumps around here.

My HTA makes 2 bar of boost at 4570 rpm in 4th gear with a 2.4 block and a lot of other bits. But I believe all of that is from the longer stroke not the HTA really. I'd bet .63 A/R GT35R versus .63 A/R HTA GT35R there probably is not more than a 100 rpm in it. Maybe 200.

That said I think it helped a bit with drivability on my car because of it's redesigned anti-surge housing.

Well I went up from the 30R to the HTA35R, and I couldn't be happier. The 3076 is a fun turbo, but you ca clearly feel where it left off vs. the HTA continuing to pull hard. Daily divablity is very nice. My head tells me and knows the HTA 35R doesn't spool as ast as my old 3076R, but my butt tells me it does. I do have a 2.3 ltr.

At what RPM do you make 30 psi in 4th gear?

My car is tuned for pump gas only. I'm going to do a high boost tune on 1 DEC. So after it's tuned for high boost I'll post it like I posted my low boost results. So you can see for yourself what and where. They'll be no dought left. Like I said, my head tells me the 3076 spools faster, but my butt disagrees.

calm down buddy. if you had any idea what you're talking about then you'd know making 2 bar at that rpm with a gt35r is pretty damn good. please do me a favor and find me any gt35r car making that boost that early.

as for a crappy tune the car ran a 10.9 granny shifting with a 1.86 60 ft, braking before the finish, and burning tires all through 1st and much of 2nd.

2 bar is 29 psi.

DB said 20psi by 4484 rpm on a 2.0

So a 2.4 with an hta 35r spooling 2 bar(29psi) at 4570 sounds correct to me. 2.3/2.4's usually spool around 500rpm's quicker.

We will have to see what DB posts for 30psi...

Which is pretty impressive... but I find it a bit odd. I'm on an HTA 35R with 2.4 and I make 1.35 bar (20 psi) at 4161 rpm.

One point I would make is the log DB is using might be from the dyno... which in the case often spool up on a dyno is different to that on the road as the rollers can't duplicate the same load you see once on the road.

Why not just reference the 3rd gear?
