I think 4th gear is most common but I could be wrong.

It might be for the dyno, but not really for road tuning.. And a lot of people compare and do road tuning.. I'm interested to know driveability of HTA35r as well, and dyno pulls in 4th - i dunno how good they would reflect that...

Drivablity is just fine. I have no problems in any area of driving this car with the HTA 35R. If you get this turbo, I suggest you get 1000cc injtrs as well. You won't be sorry.

If I were to make a daily driving vid from the cockpit of my car showing RPM's and boost, what would you guys like to see? i.e. 3rd gear pull, 4th gear pull, drive through at McDonald's, just let me know and I try and help out as much as possible before the snow hits.

I would not be able to post it here as it would be on the streets.

Well the stock turbo doesn't feel like the boost comes on like a supercharger. So I dought the 3065 does. The HTA doesn't feel instant either, but when it starts to build boost, it builds it FAST.

ok between shifts 2nd to 3rd its preaty much instant it fells like i have a cobra again. ya if i punch it in 3rd @ 3k it takes it till 4.5k to get spooled but when i shift from 2nd to 3rd boost is right there the stock turbo even took a split second to get boost back. if im going to lose that then the hta is not an option.

In-between shifts the boost is right there with my HTA. Not like my Vortech S-trim, but as far as turbos go, it's still in the boost.

most gt35's spool right around 5700 on the stock 2.0 liter in 3rd gear. 4500 in 4th with a 2.4 is not impressive, at all.

If this is true, won't those running the 0.63 housings be wasting money if they are to 'upgrade' to the HTA? How about those currently having the Buschur GT35R kit with cast manifold? Reckon they will get the same documented gains upgrading to the HTA?

Built 355, built tranny, 12bolt rearend. I did the SQ S-Trim blower. Got it maxed out as far as blower RPMs to make 550 to the wheels. Instead of moving up to a T-trim or bigger, I figured I just go turbo. So I ropped the 355 and built a 383. I have a bigger air to water intercooler. I'm starting out with a T-76 turbo. May move up to a T-80. Not sure. T-76s are easily able to produce 1000hp on with these motors, but I may just keep it mild. Around 750 to the wheels for fun. It's be a pump gas daily driver like my evo. I'll throw some slicks on it and hit the track. It should be fun. It's almost finish. Just have to wire up the fuel control and finish the piping for the water tank for the intercooler.

When I bring it to the racer spot, I'll say it has a cam, K&N filter, and a flowmaster muffler

yes, this is very much true, and there are several threads about the spoolup difference of the HTA vs. the standard 35R. crcrain didn't have the same positive results that dave b. had, hence the debate.
