Timing Belt Replacement Price?

i need to have my timing belt replaced and i was wondering what the average cost would be at the dealership. the service department was closed today so i'm gonna call them tomorrow to get a price quote. also, should i stick with the oem timing belt or buy an aftermarket one?

I just got my timing belt and balance belt changed at a local shop..

here is the price:

greddy timing belt and balance belt-180 shipped

labor: 65x4 =$260

go with either the greddy timing belt and balance belt or gates/oem...

dealership charges .. I think around 75 if im not mistaken..

cheers!

do i have to have the balance belt changed at the same time? the only reason i'm changing the timing belt is because it was getting worn down in the middle because it's rubbing something.

No, you do not have to... I would though ... because then when it comes time to change your timing belt again.. you can just change your balance belt as well with it.. . they recommend that you change both belts... why go and have to change the balance belt later on if you can just knock it out now...

it is strictly up to you though bro ( :

i'll see if i have the extra money. this was really unexpected though. my car only have 7k miles anyways so i think i would still replace the timing belt once i have to replace the balancer belt.
