Redline Oil Vs. OEM
Redline sells a full fluid package for the Evo...scroll down and you'll see the Evo package...

AMSOIL also has recommended fluids for the Evo. Check with OilDoc. He's an AMSOIL vendor on this forum. Great pricing and seems like a very knowledgable dude.
And for all this talk about not changing from the OEM fluids, the guys at TRE and Shep (the two most knowledgable Evo tranny guys) recommend Redline.

Do Not Mess This Up
OEM Or Mt90 In The Tranny.
Factory Lsd Diaqueen In The Lsd And Rear Diff. Only. Nothing Else. No, Don't Think About Something Else. Diaqueen Lsd. That's It. You get it at the dealer. It comes in a can.

I can't stress this enough!!!!! Only use DiaQueen in the transfer case, do not use anything else, unless you like spending thousands of dollars on fixing your transfer case!!!!! I used other fluid in my t-case, and i thought everything was good, then it started making whinning noises.... i had to send it to Shepherd to have it fixed..... The ring a pinion went bad due to the fluid that was used.... Call Shepherd and he'll talk to you about the importance of using DiaQueen only in the t-case ( John Shepherd 330-832-2366) As for the transmission, its ok to use other fulids.
Lancershop sells Diaqueen in gallon jugs! So if the dealership is being *****, get it there.... Its worth it!

Thanks for the plug..
If you are interested in AMSOIL, contact me... I have a warehouse in Vegas so you can get your product pretty quick..
AMSOIL, WILL NOT cause Engine, Tranny, TC or Differential failure... Use MTG in the 5&6 Speed trannies, SSO or ATM in the Engine and SVG in the TC and Diff... You WILL NOT have any problems
More Myth's that someone started and had no idea what they were talking about..... and then others carry on the Torch..

RUN something other than DIAQUEEN in your transfercase and see for yourself!
Is AMSOIL going to replace your transfercase?
105k on diaqueen only bi+ches, w/ tons of hard driving and TC runs perfect.

There are more threads than we can count of people using other than oem fluids in the transfer case and it getting ruined. I might try amsoil in the tranny next change but nothing but daiqueen in the transfer case and rear diff.
If someone uses this amsoil coctail in the tc and it fails you gonna buy em a new one-highly doubt it so why take a chance of having to replace such a expensive part.

If it is a verified fluid failure, AMSOIL will..
If it is a mechanical failure... no and why would anyone...
Before you ask.... Oil analysis and metalurgy go a long way on determining what caused the problem.
I am not asking anyone to get out of their comfort zone.... if you think DiaQ is the end-all, be-all, stay with it. Just remember, that it goes out for low bid just as all the other OEM's do.
This year it could be Mobil, next year Conoco and after that Shell...

what the hell is wrong with this forum? there's more than 10 of these drivetrain fluid threads, all in high page counts all full of horrible information recommending horrible things that are baseless.
is the stock fluid the best? if it was would you be able to put it in more than one component that classically "require" different special qualities? think about that one.
redline 75 90 NS will work in the rear diff. it has nice clutch type differential additive
redline heavy shockproof will work in the front transfer case. it's thick rasberry syrup.
in the 5 speed you can use redline mt90, mtl in certain combinations to get the desired consistency you want. some of this has to do with how often you race and what the local temperatures are if you daily drive.
