uicp issues..

So heres the story:
On my drive home today i was stuck behind someone going 25 on a 40mph road so of course i passed them, upon passing them i accelerated and hit peak boost and right when i hit it i here a very loud pop, like gunshot loud. so i had to pull back behind the slow driver, pull over and get out to see if its my tires, its not, so i pull back on the road and theres no power, so i pull back over, open the hood and notice the mesh upper intercooler piping completely off of the intake manifold and the throttle body completely exposed. so i got out a screw driver loosened the clamp and put it back on and drove home. My question is why did this happen? Was the clamp too loose? Was there a sudden surge of boost that blew the pipe off? Because recently i had the clutch replaced (which was a mess im not getting into) and i believe this requires removal of the stock airbox and the intake assembly, but im not positive it removes the uicp, infact im pretty sure it doesnt. But they did a pretty sh*tty job putting it back together (lose bolts, missing fastener, etc.) so im wondering if it was the dumbass mechanics fault or not, cause if it was then mitsu is gonna be hearing from me..

thanks for any input

common thiing with our Cars UICP/LICP will pop off the pipe likes to FLEX underBOOST and the stock clamps at times just cant hold it mine for instant hasnt blown off but others have its basically an easy fix... get some T-clamps install them and call it a day!! nothing to worry about or raise hell about!!

spray some hairspray on the insides of the silicone hoses that connect the hard pipes before you t-bolt them back in place.

The hairspray becomes very sticky, it almost acts like an adhesive. Which in turn, would make it harder to pop off.

I had that happen before when I had the HKS BOV and UICP.Now I have the ETS UICP w/ T-bolt clamps and have zero issues. Not a pleasent feeling or sound when a turbo hose or intercooler pipe pops off.

T-bolt clamps are simply not needed, especially at your mod/boost level (stock).

Put down the screwdriver and take a ratchet with a 10mm socket to that stock worm clamp.
