Turbo removal

I know there is some guides on here for fitting 10.5 hotsides and o2 housings but they all show removing the manifold as part of the install, is it possible with the radiator removed to remove the turbo from the car whilst leaving the manifold in place the reason for this is that i would rather not undo the manifold nuts in fear of one snapping.

Haven't seen that word in awhile.

Just put a bunch of PB blaster on the nuts prior to trying to remove the manifold and you will be fine. You can leave the manifold on there, but it would be a total PITA.

Are the manifold gaskets ok to re-use or is it best to get a new one?

You should be fine with the old ones as long as they aren't torn.

Just out of intrest what makes the job a pain if the manifold is left in place i was going to undo the four nuts that connect the turbo to manifold and with everything else disconnected was hoping it would be easy enough to remove the turbo or is there simply not enough room for the turbo to pass?

Without the radiator in the car I think the turbo would easily pass by it. It is much easier to take all the bolts and fittings off the turbo with the manifold off.
