FP 20g-9-5 rebuild?

i've emailed Forced Performance, but i am sure they are busy as hell and i need an answer to my question.

does anyone know if FP will rebuild a 20g-9-5 turbo now that the Green is avail? or is it better(as in cost wise) to just have them convert it to a Green?

thanks in advance.

I am sure they will rebuild it but, I would honestly suggest just having them convert it into a evo green. Normal rebuild costs will start at $400.00 and go up from there depending on what needs to be replaced. Where as if you send in a 20g-9-5 and have it upgraded to a green it would cost you $ $650.00 but, only if the original turbo is a evo 9 based turbocharger. If it is an evo 8 based turbo than they will not do it at all. They also must know who did the 20g-9-5. If it was a forced performance compressor wheel they will do it. If the turbo came from turbochargers.com they will not and believe me they will know the difference.

Well nothing is absolute untill they get the turbo though. So, that is your decision alone. Most turbo's can be repaired but, depending on what the damage it may be a differen outcome. This is what you would be getting if you went ahead with your decision:

Disassembly and inspection
Cleaning
Blueprinting
Reassembly
Balancing

Not only the basics as I have listed above but, you will also get the upgraded turbine wheel. The will also do the machine work to the turbine housing in order to accept the larger turbine wheel. Once you get the turbo back it will basically be a brand new evo green. If you can do that for $650.00 thats a steal. Hope I was of help.
