As a side note you will need someone qualified to install your cusco diff. With TRE it's a one shot deal. Mark mentioned he had to go out and fabricate (machine) custom shims for his cusco diff to get the mesh correct.

I've got the same diff and it still kicks ***. If anyone is wondering about the performance in cold/snow it's great! Just be prepared to keep your foot in it and use countersteer often. Taking it for some RallyX next weekend.

can this thread be moved to the vendor f/s 'engine internals and drivetrain' or 'suspension/brakes/handling' section though?

At the time, you had left out the "6" in your 60%

To the rest of you guys, I'm a realist. If I had a "race car", with "race car" support, I'd be running "race car" gear. However, after being in this scene for so got damn long, I've come to realize that the latest and greatest "race" parts are not all that for a daily driver. Therefore, I always lean towards, and steer my customers towards parts that can be "used" for racing, but were spawned from OE parts or OE designs for daily applications. Hope that makes sense... the latest and greatest uber expensive race part is not usually what will KEEP you happy in the end.

I totally agree. Too many people try to convince themselves that they drive a race car when the reality is they do not and have no business installing parts designed for use on a true race car on their personal car.

Don't understand why this was moved from the motorsports section. 90% of the people using this product will do so for competition/motorsport activities.

Yeah, this is probably one of the most motorsports related modifications you could do to your car, but whatever. I still plan on doing it this winter, but time's a-tickin...

ACD Flash

Had Jon mod my diff to a 1.5 way last year - this year, I'll couple it with the Gruppe-S ACD flash...

i dont think anyone ever questioned that the tre would be worth it, or really good, or sufficient for most people. i thought it'd be good to at least discuss the other options that are out there.

i think if we were all satisfied with something based on our ability to use it, most of us wouldn't have evos

for me, i'm a big auto-x guy. i like to think that when i'm driving the car, i'm using as much of it as i can. i probably am nowhere near, and maybe wouldn't approach the limits of a tre, but it's nice to think that when/if that time ever comes, the car won't be the limiting factor.

I know he got sick, then there were the holidays, plus school...so I can understand some of it. A phone call would have been nice though

What kind of improvements?

He's been saying the same thing for the last 10+ years. He's historically been bad with turn-around times.

I called today, had a few questions. He talked to me for like 20 minutes. He could have answered them in 2 minutes. He told me way more than i ever needed to know. I remember it was tough getting hold of him when I had my diff done. But once your in his system things happened fast.

Yep, over the past 5 years I've had 3 T-Case jobs, 1 trans job, and 3 rear diff jobs done. All with only a couple day turn around. One time I dropped a t-case off in the AM, drove around and checked out the city, had some lunch and some brews at the Bells Brewery, and picked it up that afternoon. Always had top quality service.
