Jon is very knowledgeable. My only issue so far is the 30+ days it has taken to do an advertised 2 day job (I know, 16 days with the 14 days of shipping). Its the "losing" of the part when I've got other appointments for the car and its been in pieces in my garage for nearly the last month and a half.

A sure bonus when you live in Michigan, but not when you live in Texas

Usually his "delay" is when he runs out of parts... that may happen after you send something as someone else's something gets there before yours. My only gripe then, as it's out of his hands would be whether he calls/emails/IM's whatever to let you know what you are waiting on. HOWEVER, still rocking the trans/x-fer work he did for me back when... think it was in the 30 or 40k mile range and about to tick over 89k on the ODO now.

Similarly, I wonder if anyone would like to comment on the carbonetics rear diff?

Again, just out of curiosity etc, I'd like to see any reviews of how it performs. I haven't heard anything from anyone about it yet

Due to the small amount of time I can have the car down, plus I couldn't get a hold of him and would do this eventually anyway, I decided to go with a cusco rs 1.5 way -

good luck to all, they're all great products!

Did you do the install yourself or have a shop do it? Did you shim it for proper gear mesh or just a straight install?

It's not in yet, I'm having AMS do it - according to them, they send it to a specialty transmission shop to shim it correctly so there won't be premature wear on the ring and pinion teeth.

also, at the same time i'm thinking of sending the ACD back to Gruppe-S to change it back to street flash - though i'll probably at least try it with the race flash at the same time

Would you be able to elaborate on this? i.e., how the diffs were installed?

On a separate note, I do believe I can sell just the stock differential alone, obviously for a cheaper price than one that comes with the entire housing

Also, just wanted to throw out there if you look hard enough you can get the part for around 900 shipped - plus a couple hundred if you sell back your stock one, and maybe two days of downtime - easily worth it for me

Keep trying to call - it's difficult, but worth it.

Oh yeah, just got back from my first track day with the Gruppe-S ACD Flash, coupled with the TRE rear diff mod that I did last year, It simply takes it up a couple/few notches......VERY HAPPY!
