Is this a sign of a new cluth ?

- I turn the car on, put it neutral, let the clutch go (slow). When I do so, the car goes upfront about two inches or so, while it's in neutral...
- when i rev it up to the redline, while it's neutral, and clutch is pressed all the way, the car goes up front about 4 inches or so ( I dont rev up all the time for no reason, I was only checking if the problem was gone- first time i reved it, i wanted to hear the sound, and after that is all tests)
- the noise thats comming from clutch is getting more annoying and a bit louder.
--- if clutch is messed up, i might as well mess it more (but how) so the warenty covers it. I have one month left

It sounds like the clutch is dragging. So when you move the lever into first whilst you are at a standstill, the car moves forward?

If so, clutch is definitely dragging. If you want to confirm this you put the car on axel stands and if the wheels move whilst you engage first without bringing the clutch up it's fooked!

Warranty will not cover a clutch because is a wear and tear item. There are some exceptions, such as clutch messing up after like 200 miles of owning a new evo.

Does this occur when you start the car and the weather is cold? Does it return back to normal, after warming up? I am not positive but the clutch shouldnt be engaging if you are park and in neutral. To test your clutch, take to about 30-40 miles, put it in 5/6th and gas it. If the RPMs jump and the car isnt moving faster than that is a sign of the clutch.

When the VIIs where released the dragging issue was a very common fault. But like the above, unless the car has done very low milage i doubt very much they will change it foc. Standard mitsi clutchs are rubbish any how.

yes.. that is correct.. it does that in the morning when i turn it on, but when i rev to the redline, it moves all the time, no metter the engine temp..

when i put it in first gear, it's all good.. no problems just in neutral.

I will do those tests and I will update you on it.. my car has 48K miles on it, so it means the warranty is not gonna cover it.. i guess ACT or Fidanza will be my firstt mod..

Another question. When you are driving and slowing down to a stop do your RPM jump.

I had a similar problem as you. During startups my rpm would jup 1000-1500 rpms and when I drive it would go back down. Also when slowing down to a stop, the rpms would jump and come back down. I cleaned my throttle body and the problem disappeared. When I took it apart to clean, it would not close all the way.

Just another option to check. I would try that before replacing the clutch since it is much cheaper. All you need is throttle body cleaner from autozone or similar shop. $5 bucks.

If you are in neutral and the car creeps, the clutch should be irrelevant since there is no gear that should be driving the wheels. It sounds more like a transmission issue, such as a bearing going out not allowing the shaft in the trans to spin freely. When the clutch is dragging you are prevented from shifting especially at high rpm.

No.. thats not the same case... when i'm driving normally, the rpms look normal, no jumps at all..

It's possible.. and today i tried the same thing in the first gear, and same thing happened... clutch was all the way down, when i red lined car moved.. could be tranny problem.. I should just go to the Mitsubishi dealer pay $85 for diagnosis test and i will know exactly what is it... but thanks guys for the tips..
maybe i should clean some parts too, maybe that would help.. but i guess tranny is better option for me since it's covered under warranty.
