Right now I have an AMS VSR, Hypertune and one other who wants to remain silent for now. I did not plan to make an intake manifold but I have an idea so this morning we started working on it. I am simply going to cut apart a stock intake manifold and increase the plenum size to 4" along with a few other changes, just to see what happens. Should be an interesting test.

I'll tell you something, this Hypertune is a nice intake, very innovative idea on the idle air control. I'd expect it to be copied and why nobody has ever thought of doing it before is beyond me.

It does look good. The plenum reminds me of the 2jz variant.

Interesting... how is it setup? I've had some battles of my own getting the stepper motor mapped with my Autronic. Luckily when Mark came it was all sorted but that was a ***** working on it on my own.

Dave DO IT! This is a GREAT IDEA! Alas, my intake manifold is at your shop being ported as I type this....I hope the results of the test are good, but not So good I want to re-do mine again! Are you going to be basing these tests off of a ported stock manifold for baseline numbers?

Are you going to test the HKS intake as well seeing as you have one you can "steal" from the black car?

Testing is going to resume, hopefully on Friday. I've considered trying the Kansai intake that's on our black car. Not sure if I will. I may end up just putting the best performing intake that I do test onto the black car.

I realize this is an old thread but I'm actually trying to figure out what turbine housing I want to use for my 2.3 liter hta 35r and shearer manifold. I'm not running a/c so I think this housing would fit fine.

is this the turbine housing that was used during this test?
http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...de=Turbo-Parts

if it's the right housing how does it compare to some of the other housings that's been tested such as the tial

also does a housing being v-band have any performance benifits or is it purely for convienience???

if anyone knows the answers to any of those questions please let me know,
trying to figure out what housing I want so I can come back up there to Buschur's and get tuned again

The housing you put up a link to will not work with the Shearer kit. You need a standard 2.5" outlet like PTE's or Garrett's.
