i had a guy put in my cosworth cams, only problem is one of the cam caps broke during the installation.

i called a few shops, BR, AMS and some more, they told me its unsafe to drive the car and i need to get the HEAD aligned and re-positioned. is this true?

ive found a new cap i baught from another evom member installed and it threw me some codes

P0172 for system to rich, which prob is, since cap is broken and i lowered boost.
P001 - camshaft position a - bank 1 position over advan.

can please let me know whats the deal with this, this might be the most exspensive cam install ever

3rd party RESPONSE ASAP!, could i tune with new cap and be ok?

 

cam cap just holds the cam in place. it has nothing to do with performance

 

How did you break a cam cap?... like burschur said you will need to pull the head, cam caps are centerbored assembled and are specific to each head. If you run it with a misaligned cam cap the cam may be in a bind...the extra stress may cause premature belt wear or even make it skip a tooth and bend all the valves.
