They cause surging

**EDIT**Doesnt the turbo have to be a 3582r for the HTA conversion? I hope that is what you got

That is true, looks like this is a .70.... Even says so on the FP site it has to be a 3582R:
Already have a Garrett GT3582R turbo? Wish it was an HTA? We can help! For a nominal $450 fee you may send us your complete Garrett GT3582R turbocharger and we will refit it with our 82mm HTA compressor wheel and advanced ported shroud cover and perform a CHRA balance after assembly to ensure PERFECT balance and max turbo RPM. Turn around on this is about 1 week.

riceball, we never-ever sold a BR500BB turbo, I don't know what you had or where you got it but the BR500's were not BB. Sorry to hear you weren't happy with it.

What you are doing now will for sure spool well, top end is going to suck though.........that's my prediction. Too many things that are going to choke off the power. Is your signature correct or is it out of date?

then what is it? I dont' recall it being a garrett part #...

IMO the housing is better suited for the gt30 series at best. On a 35r i beleive it will restrict the top end advantage that the turbo has over the 30r...making the upgrade questionable if its truly an upgrade. Turbo's are a compromise....

yes my signature is correct

what are u talking about. when you were selling the br500 you guys have the ball bearing as an option. most people did have the non ballbearing one but you did sell the bb option for a short amount of time.

her are a few link with ppl that have the br500bb

Looks good man! Please post as specific of comparison or final review as possible, namely spoolup rpm in what gear, dyno graphs, etc!

I stand corrected, we must not have sold very many, I completly forgot about it.

Looks like just the manifold, turbo and 02 housing are from us. I wish you'd have contacted me, you could have made some easy changes that would have cost you much less that would have GREATLY improved the performance of the turbo.

Good luck with the project.
