turbo problem

installed my turbo and i have an oil leak, i replaced all the oil gaskets on it but i think the oil drain pipe has a pin hole in it. i'm not sure though, but i see a mist of oil coming from that area at idle and increasing as i give it throttle. is this a comon thing the oil drain pipe seems like a pretty strong line.

i j ust foundanother leak, the back water line the one under the manifold and the oil drin seems to be leaking a little bit. it is just a very small drip buti know it as to be fixed i know for a fact that i tighted this bolt real good torke specs and used new cooper washers, my question is how can it be dripping if i tightened it good, will it seat in? The only way i see geting to this bolt is to dissasemble the radiator and take out the turbo which i realy do not want to do, any advice?

Which turbo?

Oil is probably leaking onto the wastegate.

no dont worry about those holes. mine dont leak. it could very well be the oil drain line. remove it and maybe find a way to pressurize it and see if you can hear any leaks or fill it with water and see if you can find a leak anywhere. good luck

Your drain line is probably cracked. See if you can pinpoint where the leak is coming from to confirm, otherwise order up a new return line and swap it in!

Yeah, I'd say replace the drainpipe and the gaskets with new factory replacement parts.

The installation of the drainpipe can be a b*tch because of space limitations. You have to be careful when starting the bolts because it is easy to misalign the bolts. So, start them by hand and don't over torque them.

When I installed my Green, I let my buddy who has smaller hands, do the install of the new drainpipe but he stripped one of the bolts, but I think that it was the drainpipe flange which mates to the oilpan. Anyway be careful and use new factory gaskets and if it is a used drainline be sure to remove old baked on gasket material from the mating surfaces.

well good news i think i found the problem, it seemed the screws holding the oil drain tube on the turbo where not tightened all the way. i noticed this when i was taking out the line and they unscrewed real easy. well i took out the line just to verify and it seemed fine, hopefuly that was the leak. ran the car for about 10 minutes and no leak. well i'm happy because this was my first turbo install and i did it alone, just wanted to thanks to everyone on this forum for all the help and advice and patience.
