installing a boost gauge

Where is the best line to tap into for a turbo boost gauge? The one from the manifold to the BOV? Thx!

Use the fuel pressure vacuum hose. If you don't know where it is, I think there is a pic somewhere in the install section.

I would use the vacuum line between the intake manifold plenum and the fuel pressure solenoid.

I would use the line from the manifold to BOV. I documented the install using the line from the FPR, but have since switched to the intake manifold. Another user has also noticed some delay in startup when using the FPR line. Nore reason for me to avoid it.

I have mine between manifold and BOV as well, no issues and solid readings on the guage.

The fuel pressure regulators and solenoids are important and sensitive little things. You don't really want to mess around with any inputs to these devices.

I agree with tapping into the manifold-BOV line and will be tapping my gauge there. It is safer and will still give you a proper manifold pressure reading.

Where can I drill through the firewall??? Maybe i should start a thread on this but, I want to add other lines later on down the line, and dont want to send them all through the ecu harness hole on the passenger side.

I plan shooting lines for an EBC and possibly power cables for my amp later on down the road, so I do want to drill and grommet a hole somewhere. Is the spot by the throttle cable sufficient?

Good comments. The vacuum line I referenced is the one the shop manual specifies for a shop vacuum test. I'll try and find the reference in the manual.

Why does everyone miss the nice open hole right under the steering wheel? There's a hole with like 1 line running through it and it comes out right to the right of the intake manifold. Plenty of room to run stuff through it.

There is a grommet in the firewall all the way over to the passenger side as well. You will have to peek around the shock tower area, there is a gap between that and the firewall, and you will see the black grommet. You can just punch out the grommet and use that hole, it's large enough for 4 gauge wire (IR for stereo) to pass through i think.
i never noticed the one under the steering column either, wow.

People have said to tap into the manifold to BOV. Can someone show me pics on what exactly does this hose look like?

With my gauge, I only needed a 1/8 " hole. I just drilled a small hole thru the plastic next to the accel cable.
