eBay Evo 9 IX Exhaust Install?

Hey guys.

I'm about to buy this exhaust on eBay. I have read many reviews of it, I just want to make sure it will fit.

I heard that the only problem is that the downpipe will be a little messed up, and that the installer may have to hammer out a little bit of the downpipe (bend it a little) so it can clear the ACD.

Is this the only problem that I should be running into on a 2006 Evo IX.

Here is the ebay link if you want to check it out. I have searched all over for this, and found out all the other information that I needed except fitment issues on the IX, so please don't flame me and say search. Also, this will be my first performance mod, other than a drop in filter.

Thanks for your time!

Don't assume that just because it's an "ebay" exhaust that it's the same as every other exhaust people are buying.

There isn't just one manufacturer in china, there are hundreds making these and most are making copies of copies.

True, I didn't think of that.

Most people said that that seller is who they bought theirs from.

What exhaust on eBay would you by right now, that isn't a name brand..AKA not Buschur, Megan, HKS, ect.

I was thinking about getting the Megan. I am really tight on cash and the Megan will be around 500 + $$ to install.

The eBay one will be about 200+ money to install. The only thing that could go wrong with the eBay exhaust in my mind would be the downpiipe, and if so, I could just by a Megan one for like 100.

I see you live in Wilmington, we don't live that far away. I live in Charlotte. I have a few friends who go to UNCW.

oh really?? thats cool. i can install the exhaust for you. its actually quite easy to do. i do almost all my work on my car myself. i wouldnt charge you hardly anything to do the install just for the fact that its that easy. just keep in mind that you get what you pay for man.

Yeah, I know that. I would totally love for you to install it. But to be honest, my dad bought the car. I'm only 17...so yeah.

He is really like **** about cars, and for some reason he will only let me get it installed at the Mitsu. dealership. Or like a race shop.

Its pretty gay if you ask me...but if I argue he is just like..well I can sell your car and buy you a civic, and then you can do whatever you want to it.

So I'm usually just like....nvm...this will work.

OK..I am gonna shed some light on this subject..Of the people who posted, how many actually have the ebay tbe??I do,and its on an evo 9..True ,on the hammering to make the dp fit right..I am a welder, and it was a clear choice..Tubing is tubing..As long as the tubes have few bends and no restrictions..Very true, that you can buy the more expensive ones, and not have to hammer the dp to fit..But,for some folks this isnt a bad route either..If money is a factor..

Out of ten..I give fitment an 8 and a half..Due to the dp situation..

Out of ten..i give sound and performance a 10..

Final results..With the eby tbe,br mbc,and intake,and a tune..

Results..321hp,qnd 319tq..with a slipping clutch..

And when all is said and done..i have never been harassed for an exhaust that is too loud..and the performance is obviously there..

Good luck man..
Justin

I see this is an old bump.... but I too have the $225 ebay TBE on my EVO9.

The DP didn't fit right so I heated it with a propane torch and beat the crap out of it with a hammer. After a minor adjustment it fit perfectly.

With just a tune and ebay TBE I ran an 11.9@116 so that should go to show you a pipe is a pipe is a pipe.
