As long as it is t304 stainless steal, an ebay dp is the same as many other aftermarket brands. However, fitment becomes and issue and some people have luck with their ebay dps and others have to force fit it or dent the dp to avoid it from hitting the transfer case. Also, different brands have different length dps.

I would suggest getting an exhaust system from a proven name company. At this point in time, there are so many options of parts for Evos. Cheap parts will only cause headaches.

Remember, you own an Evo, not a civic. The best piece of advice I can give you is.."do it right, or do it twice."

Exactly, you can run into fitment issues, not all 3" downpipes are created equal. Some are only 2.75", interior or smaller, etc., wield quality can be iffy, etc etc. There are plenty of downpipes for sale here in the classifieds that wouldn't be much more than that one, I'd look around a bit first.

For the most part yes. The best dollar value is the Megan Racing dp

You're getting some weird advice here.

Buy any cheap downpipe, just make sure it is for a 05-06 and you will be fine. Even the cheapo's are good quality.

was looking at the megan dp and i read that "The piping is constructed of stainless still with the exception of the first 90-Degree bend which is constructed of Cast-Steel. The reason for this was to keep the bend more uniform and the CFM of the exhaust up." wud there be any cons to the dp using the cast-steel?? thnx for the advice

Like some have said earlier, some dp's are only 2.75", some are meant for non acd cars, some that are still have slightly different angles especially when it comes to the lower bars. Some wont clear so you either have to remove them or get spacers. Being a 3" pipe is a 3" pipe my goal when looking for an exhaust system was to go with one known for good fitment. A nice flowing 3" pipe is no good if it just hits and rubs at every bend. I ended up going with an RMR DP and catback, along with a mil spec 100 cell cat. 3" piping throughout with excellent fitment.

I got the megan on mine and i got an 05. there is no fitment issues. Just make sure you get the newer style one not the flex section one if you plan to get megan

I'm gonna sound snooty but I don't use ebay parts cause they usually cause issues expecially the fitment..Bottom line you pay for what you get.

thats the truth right there! i had to learn the hard way. went with the "deal" and a few months later had to replace my oil pan because the DP rubbed a crack into it.
