How much boost can a stock evo 8 can handle?

Hi,

I have set mine up at 1.53bar (around 22psi) and there seem to be no problem.

what's the boost level that stock evo8 can handle?

I'm running on 98 octane

Are you sure that is 1.53?

Much metric boost gauges go 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, then 2 bar.

Double check that cause you may be running 1.8 bar which is ~26psi.

about 53psi. But you will have danger to teh manifold. Make sure you upgrade your egr also, they have a tendency to explode!

Coz I'm reading off an electronic gauge, 1.53bar is correct.

It currently has BOV and HKS filter running on 98 octane.

Since stock evo is 19psi (1.31bar), I'm just thinking how much boost evo can handle without further mod.

1.53bar seems to be running fine but you reckon I could go abit higher?

Stock. Why raise it if you are all stock.

obviously you're not going to feel any problems, your car is probably pulling timing and in reality you are slower then stock.

also, when you run higher octane gas then your car was tuned for it's pretty much going to do nothing.
