broken turbo fins

I went to change turbo housings on my GT35R and found all of the fins with the ends broken off. Can the broken pieces (pretty small) get stuck and clog the intercooler?

yes they can get stuck in there, but its better then in your motor.

How would they have gotten broken off? Did you break them off will take off the housing? or are you running without an intake?

Do you have pics. I know the oem turbo hotside fins look almost as if there is a piece broken off from the stock design.

are you running an open turbo? The only way I could think you would break a fin is if something hit it, right?

no gafilta

I was using a screen, no filter. Last time I will do that. it's possible that heat melted it when I blew my motor originally. I have sent it out 4 repair, hopefully not too much dinero.
