wth does a boost leak have anything to do with getting locked out of gear? You sure are a noob...

gen3eclipsegt i have the same problem.. You try adjusting your clutch pedal? try that to see if it helps. How many miles on the clutch?

i have the same problem as well, but it's 5th gear that i get locked out. occassionally i'll be able to shift into it with no problems, but most of the time i get locked out. i have about 10k miles on the stock clutch. should i try adjusting the clutch pedal?

sound good that sounds true if ya think about it .... thanks for your help but locking out of 4th really messes up your time .... last time at the track i ran a 12.8 at 119 mph at 18psi and locked out of 4th i got into 4th right before i crossed the line so im hoping for low 12's with working boost and no lock out

actually whats really going on is that the trans that is in the evo 8 is from an evo 7 and Mitsubishi didnt beef it up any and theres a TSB (technical service bulletin) on this problem and the correction for it is to replace the synchronizers inside the trans with performance synchronizers. there should be no need of adjusting the clutch pedal is a hydrolic clutch and is self adjusting until you replace the clutch

well the clutch isint stock neither is the flywheel so the only real way around that problem is to switch out the syncros upgraded ones or one from a evo9 tranny??? it is a really heavy clutch if i were to change the clutch to something diffrent would that maybe correct the problem .... and if i hit even a 11.9 i would be very happy

I have a IX and im having lockout issues at 7k in 4th most of the times. I have to let the rpms drop real quick and then shift 25k+ miles stock clutch, 2 11sec passes

119 mph on the Stock Turbo at 18 psi is not possible. May be on Science Fiction Movies, .
Or, a good Shot of NOS, .

If you went "into 4th right before you crossed the line" like you sayed, then I make the conclution that you were not using NOS, nor going 119 mph, .
Come on, some of Us been there and done that.
