Borla EVO Works in Progress Header and Cat-Back

We've been working very hard on designing our header and cat-back for the EVO8 and I wanted to give you guys a sneak peak at our works in progress.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THESE ARE UNFINISHED PROTOTYPES!THE FINISHED PRODUCTION PIECES WILL BE MUCH CLEANER.

I just wanted to show you guys the design concepts. Notice the perforated multi-core XR-1 muffler. This provides an unmatchable combination of sound and power. This patented technology was previously only available in our race line.

As you can see, we were also able to get quite a bit of length out of the header. The stock header is quite restrictive. We will also be ceramic coating all of these headers.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THESE ARE UNFINISHED PROTOTYPES!

HOPE YOU LIKE 'EM!

Here's a shot down the tip of the Cat-back, you can see the perforated multi-core. Sorry it's so dirty, it's a test prototype.

What would be the benifit of the header and cat back from your company?

for example, HP, Torque, Under hoot temps,Turbo spool.

Thank you for the product update, Any if at all estimated full production date and carb legal?

Nice pics.

Haven't done any dyno testing yet. Sorry if I jumped the gun by posting this before I have HP and torque numbers. I just wanted to show you guys the design concepts.

Thanks for letting us know what is in the works. I'm sure the catback will be nice..like Borla products usually are. Hopefully the price will be comparable to the other catbacks. I'm curious to see what kind of gains you get with that header.

I didnt mean to jump you.

HP and Torque are not my only questions. I was looking to see the reason of your design? What does you design accomplish and what are the goals of your header and cat back?

Faster spooling? Better under hood temps? What things in your design set you apart from others beside quality.

Everyone know borla = top notch quality.

i have always loved the way BORLA sounded. i have never seen a header like that.. would draw alot of attention with the hood open. but correct me if i am wrong but it seems like they are equal length and longer for better scavanging of the cylinder and also probably add a better tone speration to the exhaust note.

but great pics. keep em comin

Dang... one of those header tubes looks WAY to close the upper radiator hose.

I had a borla catback on my turbo maita and loved the sound but not the back pressure, but that one was not designed for a turbo application.

I have borla catback on my contour (still havent sold that damn thing) along with msds headers and I have to say that is the only 2.5 NA I have ever heard that sounds like a V8, nice deep tone.

Thanks for the info David. Post up some sound clips when you get the car running.... preferably a drive by recording and a stationary recording...

Borla really does make outstanding products. It will be interesting to see what kind of #'s they put down and how they will make our beloved Evo's sound.

The header looks very nice. One question: What's the diameter of the pipes used on the header?
