I am sure ttp would give you a break on fixing it for you. Take up scott on his offer. Stop what you're doing, talk with scott and get your car back on the road... For the love of all that is evo... Do it.

oops, I'm getting PM's for the fix.

I don't know exactly what Troy ended up doing but I think he replaced some pieces around the cam.

the problem was NOT the tune.

Bumping this topic back from the dead... I am having the same problem with my Evo 9 with the P0011. What was the solution to this problem, and what did you have to replace around the camshaft? Did you just replace the sensor? Thanks for your help.

If the MIVEC programming is out of range of what the ECU understands, then this code will come up.

good point but unless he changed my mivec map that shouldn't be the issue. It's within spec and nobody else is having a problem with the same map. I'm not sure why he's no longer responding to this thread if he found the fix...kind of odd.

I've seen tuners put 30-33* MIVEC advance in Evo IX maps that the ECU does not understand and will throw P0011.

In the past the maximum MIVEC advance was not well known but these days there should be no reason for seeing it in any map.

yeah I've seen that and other oddities as well like huge changes in the idle section of the fuel map in an attempt to adjust for bigger injectors
