Reason for recall

(The manual gear mech)As the shift control part of the selector control load and the selector pins insufficient insertion depth, the continued use would reslt in the failure of the shift mech.

Nature of improvement

After checking the insertion depth of the pin, the parts with insufficient depth would be exchanged with working ones.

That is the main gist.

The pin is located on the diagram of the gear selector lever as a little hole on the shaft about 2 thirds down with the wordings in bold on the left.

I am not an engineer so I dont know how that works but I assume that without knowing Mitsu specs for the so called hole or pin (i.e. req dpeth), we gotta twiddle thumbs till they release som more info or you can get the auth delaer to part with the info.

Does anybody know how detrimental this fault is?

I'll post a word docin a while with a better translation.....

Mmm.... if it's just a pin can't we find a similar part from those Evo 7's that have salvage value?

Had a look at the evo 7 shift lever and the differences are too wide without the corresponding pin location.

I cant figure it out but bcos we are tlking differnces in the length of the pin ( i say hole, maybe the translation lost something), even te evo vii ones may not be right and also since it is the 5 spd.

I put up a post on this on the local (dephi) forum and someone made a call to their agent (c&c?), apparently they are still waiting for the info from japan and was told to wait for a call from the agents service people.
