Mitsubishi Japan just ordered a recall on the EvoX. I thought for sure it'll be the fuel pump relay but it turned out to be the fuel line & connector in the engine bay.

when you are there for the recall, can you check with them on the relay too?

Mitsubishi just posted pictures on their website. Check this site and scroll to the bottom where there are 2 pictures of the engine. Look at the fuel return line outlined in blue. The left picture is before the recall and the right picture is after the fix. As you can see, they added 2 additional brackets for the fuel return line. If yours doesn't have the additional brackets, then I'm pretty sure you will get a recall also.

This recall is to prevent possible fuel leakage from the fuel return line.

Checked my 08 USDM X and I have NOT those brackets...
So please let me know if this recall will be also for USDM model, if someone of you from USA will receive the recall.
And, if possible, I'd really appreciate if someone can post the Mitsu part number of the 2 additional brackets, so I'll try fo find them also here in EU (Italy).
Thanks guys!

"THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 29, 2009. "

:'( Sadly, it's another trip to the dealership.

DAMIT i swear with this car...has been such a pain in the *** with the recalls and check engine lights, ****in reflashes. Love the EVO but im pretty positive im done with Mitsubishi after this.

I have a cone filter stuck on my intake, do you think I need to put the stock airbox back on?

No. Why would you have to remove the test pipe or anything else for that matter?

If they check, can't they possibly void your warranty overall and not perform the fix and/or any other issues down the road now that they will log your vin # in the system to never touch the car again?
