My evo 8 with 92k mile and everything is back in stock form for over 6 month now, and just this weekend it started to act funny.
What happen is, once boost hit about 15 psi, by keeping the peddle on the gas
My car starts to jerk, it feel like my car is lacking gas. Allot of time it seem like it’s stuck at 15 psi, but then it can spike pass 25 psi. And when this happens, I can smelly UN burn gas, and can something like this happen from a boost leak, Bad BOV
Or something wrong with my Plugs, This only happen when my car is trying to get to full boost. Anything under 15psi seems normal. But anything pass 15, the car seem like it wants to die, and I have no CEL or anything like that.

Any input would help. I want to bring it in to the shop but don’t want them to rip me off, if it’s something simple as a BOV or Simple boost leak somewhere I just need to tighten myself.

 

Change your plugs and gap them correctly to see if that helps.

 

yea it could be your plugs. Are you running any sort of boost controller or just stock wategate accuator? How could is it where you live rright now?

 

check your plugs, cables. check upper pipe by TB.

 

Sounds like maintenance. Do not rule out dirty injectors. Plugs probably need changing and possible dirty *** air filter.

 

Are you on the stock ECU program? It sounds like you are running too rich.

 

I still have my SAF2 install, when Im Park I can Rev it up to 7k with no knock
I don’t know how trust worthy the knock sensor is on the SAF2.
My air filter is Brand new, Plugs was changed at 50k mile, maybe its time to change them again, I check all my Pipes, and they seem to be all in place.
I been running just the stock Wastergate actuator and on stock ECU no flash. and its been 0 to -15 below zero here in Minnesota the pass week, So im no to sure if its running rich, Car runs lean when its cold right, rich when its muggy outside and hot?
I will change the Plugs tonight, and find some injection cleaner, Ill let you guys know if it help.

You Guys are 100% correct, My 3rd plug was the problem.It just look really nasty,
some how it look like the white part on it turn very brown, like if its been burn really bad,the other 3 didnt look all the bad.
Lucky the dealership didnt have any instock,
they wanted $17.47 each, Ran to my local Advance auto part, got the same OEM for
$9.95 each, even tho they tryed to sell me some brand name Autolite or something like that for $ 24. each.
