Well im trying to figure out what exactly i should do with my evo 8. I was wondering if it is possible to get into the 11's on a stock turbo running straight 93octane? I would love to put in a 50 trim kit and bigger injectors but i think having the stock turbo would be alot more fun for a daily driver. Im thinking that if i do cams, intake, exhaust, fuel pump, ported o2 housing and exhaust manifold, ets fmic and a good tune from someone in new england (where i live) i would be able to dip into the 11's with my evo. Am i right here? or setting my hopes to high on that turbo?

 

hopes are too high. You're going to have to run race gas or meth to get into those numbers.

 

I did it on the ****tiest track in the world. I have a IX though. I would suggest a IX turbo or fpgreen in order to do it. S1 cams and a green is a bad *** DD. All you need is 360whp and an amazing driver and it is doable.

 

I think that 11's on straight 93 are doable on an Evo 8 with at least a FP Green and cams. Maybe someone else has done it with a 9 turbo. We'll see the comments

Thats nonsense. A full bolt on, cammed EVO8 can go 11s on pump gas no problem. Hell, I went 11.9 @118mph on 93octane only, with a crappy 1.82 60foot. My car could have went 11.6 on pump with some tires. There are numerous guys here who went 11s on a stock turbo and pump gas alone. You do not need a Green to do that, you just need a good combination of mods.

 

Well i was looking at the buschur dual bb 50 trim turbo kit. Would adding this be a smart idea? im assuming it would spool by 3800, correct?

 

With what mods did you make 378whp? Not on pump. I am one of the highest stock turbo and pump cars here. I beat meth cars and even a green car. You have an 8 too. Your stock turbo on pump will not trap 118. If that is the case then your track is definitely downhill.

 

Its doable, but the car will need an aggressive setup with a very good tune. If you'd like to set something up shoot me a PM with how much money youd like to spend. Its going to take some excellent driving to get there... a 360-370whp car can run deep in the 11's or a sweet 14 second run...

Its doable, but that car was tweaked. Once we have more time and a EGT gauge on your car with dr's youll be running 11.5's on pump.

 

Thats not true at all. I have trapped 117 on 93 pump. Granted I have a IX but I know the car has more in it on just pump gas.

My good friend Mike1023 has trapped 120 on pump gas on a stock turbo evo 8.

So it is 100% doable.

 

Not on pump. I just recently beat a 117 trap car so I know mine has more but still. A IX turbo will always trap higher. My car cammed will give me 2mph but again my car is faster than most with similar mods. I know where my car stands and I am certain I wont get beat by an 8 on pump.

which is another good point... Many people can hit 11's but they're taking seats out and that to me is just crap!!! Run it how you would run the car on a date with a chick, not gutted!

 

Just run meth and you can run higher boost on your viii.
