Considering removing clutch restrictor

So i am thinking about removing the clutch restrictor. I have talked to some local guys and read some threads on here. Opinions on the subject are mixed so I am looking for some valid reasons on why I should and shouldn't remove it. This will be on the stock clutch with 12k miles.

Please vote and give some reasons. I am looking for some real world experience so if you have it removed or have driven a car with it removed please let me know how you liked it or if you didn't like it. Again this is on the stock clutch.

I havent taken mine out yet. I havent had any problems with shifting or the clutch engauging though.

removing the restrictior pill from the slave cylinder gives you more pedal feel and better engaugement and can help with shifting issues. i would say do it, it not hard to do and works well.

get rid of it for positive clutch engagement you wont regret it & while your at it install a braided clutch line.

I have been wondering about this as well. The Evo's clutch is rather soft and slow, and I assume this is the reason. Anyone have any opinions on drawbacks to removing it? Is it possible for removal to contribute to or become a factor in damaging something? Will it cause the clutch to wear faster? Is it harder on the tranny and transfer case?

i can't remember where but i read that removing the restricter could lead to hell of lot more clutch wear if u launch

been running without the restricter since day one in 2005 (50,000 mi) & still on the stock clutch.

remove the slave cylinder
unscrew the bleeder then push it out with a hex key ...its pretty simple & easy

It's a small plastic pill with a spring attatched to it, it would probably only take a hour or so to do with bleedin and all. IIrc ther is a how to somewhere.

I doubt i will do a braided line. I read the how to and it seems like a wicked hassle for the line. The pill is what i am mostly concerned with.

If anything it should HELP the clutch from wearing faster as it doesnt "drag" the clutch when engaging.
