i have never poped a clutch when launching an awd car. Might just be me. Any way i like to use my e-brake when launching!
1. pull up on the e-brake
2. push clutch in, put car in 1st gear.
3. push gas all they way down for my 2 step ( set up for 6800 rpm launches)
4. ease out clutch till i feel a slight grab ( car loads up and u feel jerk foward a lil bit
5. once the light is green, i ease out the clutch while letting the e-brake drop quickly and start banging gears.
I have used this method for a while now and pull consistent 1.6-1.7 60' with crappy cooper all season tires. this years i will invest in some drag radials.

load the clutch, floor it, slip it at a steady pace so you dotn bog or spin....
start at 5500 then work your way higher until your spinning to much..
You want to have a little tire spin, if youre just hooking hard sure youll have a slightly better launch but its more strain on ur drivetrain.. especially when youre first learning
NEVER, EVER, EVER DROP THE CLUTCH... THE CLUTCH WILL NOT SLIP LIKE THE STOCKER, ITS GOING TO GRAB AND BREAK YOUR TC, AXLES, TRANNY, REAR DIFF.

make sure you adjust your engagement point on your clutch... You'll never get a good launch without that being right.. My old exedy twin seemed to launch itself. so no suggestions on that.
mine seems to be kind of high like it was when it was stock
I haven't install my twin hd yet..but what you said is I always do in my stock clutch. Ive been doing 1.6's on this way.( 24 psi on all 4 tires)

hold 6500rpm at stage....
hold the clutch and release fast when launching...
DO not pop the clutch though..
just release fast and get on the gas.
I totally ****ed up my last car...high a$$ rpm launches etc..
never had a gearbox or t-case problem..
and that was only cause I slipped the clutch when launching.
