Converting WR8 to TME turbo

Converting a FP WR8 turbo to a TME is as easy as undoing a band clamp and swapping on a stock Evo8 cold side, right?

Thanks,
Rich

No, the TME has a magnesium compressor wheel I believe. Yes, you can swap an OEM VIII center section (including turbine wheel, compressor, and compressor cover) into the turbine housing for the white rabbit, but that's NOT a TME. That's the equivilant of a 2005 OEM VIII turbo (10.5 hotside).

I thought a TME has a titanium turbine wheel and shaft, unlike the iconel wheel and shaft in the hotside of an 05 or Evo9 turbo? Never heard that a TME has a magnesium compressor wheel...

You're thinking of the evo9 RS turbo, that had the mag comp wheel, the mag wheel was only first used on the evo9 RS turbos.

Just swap out the compressor wheels. You may wish to have the cartridge VSR(vibration sort rig)balanced at over 100.000 RPM, after the swap though.

This is correct.
The TME turbo has titanum turbine wheel and normal aluminium compressor wheel. How do I know this, because I have a TME
