Some of the TME's (GSR) were 15G's vs Evo 8 16G's

The TME turbo shaft and compressor wheel are made from Titanium therefore its 30% lighter than a normal 16g. With that said, the TME turbo will spool around 300 rpm faster than a regular 16g and from my past experience, the top end power are better than stock.

Thanks,
Tom

the better top-end would probably be due to the larger turbine housing i imagine. are the compressor wheel specs the same for the 16g versions?

The better top end comes from the 10.5T ehaust housing verses the 9.8T for the evo8.

As for the wheels, yeah the 16G versions are the same.

If you want real response...go with the TME GSR 15G turbo. You lose a bit of horsepower (10-15) but it spools like crazy and holds boost very well.

There are probably over 10 different threads on the TME.

Evolution 6 : Tommi Makinen Edition
Turbo = TD05RA-15GK2-10.5T (GSR)
TD05HRA-16G6-10.5T (RS/rs2)
Nozzle Area (cm2) = 10.5
Turbine = Titanium alloy for both RS/RS2/GSR!
Compressor = Aluminium, 65mm (gsr) - 68mm(rs) wide

Off topic: Cool thing is the Dodge SRT4 Stage 3r is offered with the specs of the TME turbo (GSR) which is the TD05HR-15GK2-10cm2
